High-Visibility Vehicle Graphics for Safer Operations

Complete Graphics’ reflective & high-visibility wrap installations transform vans, HGVs, and specialist vehicles with retro-reflective vinyl and high-visibility finishes designed to catch attention day or night. These wraps improve on-road safety and help you meet visibility and signage compliance while maintaining a professional appearance - all fitted by our experienced installation team!

We regularly work with fleet operators, tradespeople, and emergency services, applying high-visibility vehicle graphics that ensure your vehicles are clearly seen during roadside breakdown recovery, on construction sites, across motorway networks, and in any environment where increased visibility reduces risk.

Why Wrap Your Vehicle With High-Visibility Markings?

Here’s why high-visibility markings and reflective graphics are a popular choice:
  • Improved Low-Light Visibility: Retro-reflective materials dramatically increase how easily your vehicle is seen at dawn, dusk, and after dark.
  • Clearer Hazard Signalling: High-visibility markings communicate danger zones and vehicle roles (e.g. highway maintenance vehicles) instantly to other road users.
  • Improved Brand Exposure: Bright, well-designed graphics improve brand recognition while also serving a practical safety function.
  • Durable & Low-Maintenance: Quality reflective vinyl resists weather and UV rays, staying effective for years with minimal upkeep.
  • Cost-Effective Safety Upgrade: Compared with structural changes or extra lighting, graphics are a relatively low-cost way to reduce risk.
  • Customisable & Removable: Bespoke designs match your fleet livery and can be removed or updated by a professional without damaging the vehicle’s paintwork.

The Different Types of Reflective Markings We Offer

Below are the common reflective and high-visibility markings that our clients often choose:

Chevron markings are bold, diagonally striped panels applied to the rear of vehicles to make a stopped or slow-moving vehicle highly visible to following traffic. Widely used for recovery vehicles and highway maintenance, chevrons are a key element of Chapter 8 guidance.

Conspicuity markings are narrow reflective strips applied to the sides and/or rear edges of larger vehicles, such as trailers and HGVs. They improve lateral and rear visibility and meet statutory conspicuity requirements for certain goods vehicles.

Battenberg markings involve a high-contrast alternating block pattern used on emergency and police vehicles to give strong daytime and night-time recognition. They are often used alongside chevrons on highway vehicles.

Retro-reflective vinyl involves custom-printed reflective vinyl for logos or text that reflects light back to its source, making it ideal for branding that must remain visible at night.

Emergency vehicle graphics are specialist livery and marking systems designed to identify ambulances, police, fire, and other emergency services. These graphics are perfect for quick recognition and safety.

Promotional reflective graphics are reflective versions of marketing elements that boost brand exposure after dark without losing the promotional function of normal daytime graphics.

Metro Rod (Compliance-Led Rear Reflective Graphics)

Due to the nature of their work, Metro Rod required rear chevrons that met Chapter 8 guidance for vehicles working on or near high-speed roads, while keeping each van looking professional.

Our team installed retro-reflective rear chevrons on Metro Rod’s vans, using premium film for long-term performance. Their van fleet now presents a highly visible, consistent rear profile that improves driver recognition in low light and at night. All installations were completed with minimal fleet downtime thanks to our organised workshop schedule.

Isis Rescue (Design-Led Reflective Refresh)

Isis Rescue wanted a vinyl installation to modernise their recovery vehicles without losing continuity with their established brand identity. The project needed to improve night-time visibility while delivering a smarter visual direction.

We reworked Isis Rescue’s previous artwork into a contemporary design that preserved key brand elements but introduced reflective accents for improved night-time presence. The new recovery vehicle presents a modern look that aligns with Isis Rescue’s existing fleet and brand direction, while benefiting from increased visibility at night. The client was particularly pleased with the refined aesthetic and the accuracy of the pre-production mockups.

TWE Haulage (Design-Led Reflective Fleet Wrap)

TWE Haulage needed a local, reliable supplier able to deliver a better service than their previous provider. The project demanded precise installation on different vehicle types, such as a VW Long Wheel Base (LWB) Crafter and Scania S500 lorry cab.

Our team produced updated artwork and delivered full vehicle wraps on both the VW LWB Crafter and Scania S500 cab. We custom-fit reflective branding elements to suit each vehicle’s contours, ensuring that the reflective elements complemented the design rather than dominating it. TWE now have two vehicles with high-quality reflective graphics that enhance brand presence while improving low-light visibility!

FAQs

Are there any rules on reflective vinyls and vehicle safety markings in the UK?

Yes. Certain markings, such as rear chevrons and conspicuity strips, are governed by guidance and regulations, including the Department for Transport’s Traffic Signs Manual (Chapter 8). Requirements depend on vehicle type and use, so not all reflective graphics are mandatory, but compliance is essential where they apply.

What’s the difference between reflective and fluorescent graphics?

Reflective graphics bounce light back towards their source, making vehicles visible at night when headlights hit them. Fluorescent graphics absorb UV light and appear brighter in daylight, especially in poor weather.

How long do reflective graphics last?

High-quality reflective vinyl typically lasts 5 to 7 years when professionally installed and properly maintained. However, the lifespan can vary depending on sun exposure, vehicle use, and cleaning methods.

Can you fit on-site, or do vehicles need to come to your workshop?

We prefer to carry out reflective installations at our Witney-based workshop, but we’re flexible; we can arrange on-site or nationwide installations where it suits the customer. We’ll discuss this with you at the earliest opportunity, so everyone is on the same page.

Do you offer chevron rear markings?

Yes, we design and fit rear chevrons (and related high-visibility rear panels). We install them precisely according to your vehicle type, so they perform correctly in use.

Are your wraps compliant with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual?

We can produce and install wraps to meet Chapter 8 guidance where required. Compliance depends on the vehicle type and how it’s used, so we’ll confirm the correct specification and standards for your vehicle as part of our initial conversation and quote.
